Red hair flares out of a black-brown background, and the woman beneath it is coming apart in coloured bands. Her eyes are still there, but the rest of her slides sideways in strips of acid green, pink, blue and yellow, with a few thin lines and magenta squares drifting nearby. The painting is about wanting something that will not stay in focus. I wanted the heat of the hair to argue with the cold stutter of a screen.
That makes it glitch wall art with a warm centre. The dark ground gives the colours room to glow, so the strips look lit from behind.
This is a hand-finished pop art lithograph. I add my own acrylic brushstrokes on top, then a textured gel that goes on white and dries completely clear, so the glitching bands have a physical surface. It is stretched, framed in black and measures 60x80 cm. Each one has its own serial number and a certificate, and I make them to order.
The saturated colour makes it good pop art for a living room with plain walls, and it sits well among pop art prints in a hallway if you want one loud piece to anchor the rest. Like most glitch wall art, it looks best under low, warm light, so the dark background stays deep.
The original painting is sold, but I can paint a new one to order in any size.
Every artwork is made to order — we confirm availability, production time and delivery before payment.
