A woman with long platinum hair and a black cap leans back, eyes closed, her tongue on the rim of a wine glass. Behind her the wall runs with pink, blue, orange and green paint, crossed by green scribbles, a red euro sign and a dollar bill. Angular faces with wide eyes stare from the top corners. I see this graffiti wall art as a story about appetite: she has the glass, the watch, the car key, and she still looks ready for the next thing.
Her image breaks in the middle. Bands of neck, chest and hair shift sideways like a glitching screen, while the glass, the jewelry and the key stay crisp. The key fob carries a round three-pointed-star emblem, and a faint outline of the same sign is drawn on the wall.
This is a hand-finished lithograph, 60 x 80 cm. After printing I add my own acrylic brushstrokes on top, so the drips and glossy skin have real paint on them. A textured gel goes on white and dries completely clear, leaving a raised layer you can feel. It is stretched on a stretcher bar and framed in black. Each of these pop art prints has its own serial number and a certificate, and I make them to order.
There is a lot of colour here, so this graffiti wall art can carry a living room wall on its own. The painted version is the original painting, oil and acrylic on canvas, 110 x 90 cm, 2021.
