One face, two ways of seeing it. The left half is painted in warm brown, with an ear and dark hair. The right half goes pale and grey, like a pencil drawing. Pink, orange and blue blocks break across the forehead and chin, columns of scrambled type run over the surface, and three QR codes sit around the head. It is glitch portrait art about being human in a screen-shaped world. The title is the Greek anthropos, a human being.
Each lithograph is hand-finished. I add my own acrylic brushstrokes on top of the print, and a textured gel that goes on white and dries completely clear, so the surface has real relief instead of flat ink. Most contemporary art prints stay flat. Mine catch the light from the side, so the glitch portrait art changes as you walk past it. The work is 60 x 60 cm, stretched on a stretcher bar and framed in black, with a serial number and a certificate. It suits pop art for living room walls.
