This is my Girl with a Pearl Earring pop art lithograph. Vermeer's girl turns toward you in her blue and yellow turban, but the picture is glitching. Her face slides apart in horizontal strips, black bars cut through her cheek and neck, and pale paint drips run down her forehead. A smear of pink spray-paint drips from her lips, and pixel squares float off into the black.
Where Vermeer painted a plain jacket, I put a multicolour luxury monogram in gold, pink, green, blue and red. It is perfectly neat. Her face is not. It is about how fast a famous face becomes a logo. It also works as pop art for living room walls, where the black background makes the colours louder.
As Girl with a Pearl Earring pop art goes, it is more about the logo than the pearl. The lithograph is from 2023, based on my original painting from 2022. Unlike most pop art prints, each one is finished by hand: my own acrylic brushstrokes go over the print, so the turban, the drips and the monogram carry real paint. A textured gel goes on white and dries completely clear.
The size is 60 x 80 cm. It is stretched on a stretcher bar and framed in black, with a serial number and a certificate. Each lithograph is made to order. Message me on Instagram or by email to check timing and delivery. You can also see the original painting.
