«Girl with Peaches (1)»

In Serov's 1887 portrait a girl sits calmly behind a table of peaches. In this Girl with Peaches pop art version the table is covered with credit cards, coins, a pen and two thick, glowing peaches. She wears a pink sweater with a green and red stripe, scrambled logo letters and a cat asleep in a banana peel. On the left her own arm rests on the table, her hand over another peach.

I cut her face the way a screen glitches. A black bar sits on her forehead, a strip across her mouth slides sideways, and black rectangles block parts of the sweater. She still looks straight at you while everything around her is for sale. As pop art portraits go, I wanted this one sweet and a little uneasy. It is colorful pop art, easy to place as pop art for living room walls.

This pop art lithograph is from 2023, based on my 2022 painting, and each one is hand-finished. I paint my own acrylic brushstrokes on top of the print and add a textured gel that goes on white and dries completely clear. It is stretched on a stretcher bar in a black frame, size 60x80 cm, with a serial number and certificate. Made to order: message me on Instagram or by email.
