She looks into the lens the way many of us do, head tilted, one hand low and the bag in view. Then the picture slips. This glitch portrait shows a woman whose face breaks into shifted strips, with a black bar over her brow and pixel blocks drifting beside her head. A badge with a name and a score hangs in the corner, as if her whole self came with a rating.
A glitch portrait can say it plainly: being seen and being sorted are now the same thing. Her dress is a fine checkerboard, her skin is made of dots, and the gold baroque frame around her is the old language of status wrapped around a new one.
This pop art lithograph is made to order and finished by hand. After printing, I add my own acrylic brushstrokes on top, together with a textured gel that goes on white and dries completely clear, so the dots, the hair and the frame catch light like paint. Like other hand-embellished prints, it is stretched on a stretcher bar and set in a black frame, 60 x 80 cm. Each lithograph has its own serial number and a certificate.
It works as pop art for the living room with an edge, a portrait that people stop at. Message me on Instagram or by email to ask about timing and delivery.
The lithograph follows my original painting.
