A masked figure in a black hoodie holds an old TV, and the screen is a pile of everything we scroll past: a vaccine vial, a recycle bin, missiles, tanks, binary digits and a ring of reaching hands. Behind it, the whole yellow background is lines of code. I wanted a picture of one person trying to carry the whole news cycle, and I think it reads as digital art about information overload.
The mask is white, smiling, with a moustache, and it is sliced in the middle so the grin slips. A dagger and a gold emblem keep the mood a little ominous.
This lithograph is hand-finished. I paint my own acrylic brushstrokes over it, and I add a textured gel that goes on white and dries completely clear, so the surface has real brushwork and texture. It is 60x80 cm, stretched and framed in black. Every lithograph has its own serial number and a certificate, and I make each one to order. It sits well in a studio, an office or a living room, as digital art and a hand embellished lithograph with a lot to look at.
