This thomas jefferson pop art shows a clown in a ruffled collar who holds a roll of paper, and a long strip of tiny lettering unrolls across his chest. Under the rainbow wig and the red nose is Thomas Jefferson, his name written backwards in the title. His face slides out of line in strips, with white paint dripping like make-up.
For me the picture is about how serious faces and serious money meet in the same room. Behind him a gold field is crossed with price lines for bitcoin, oil, the yuan and ether, as if markets were laughing at the founding fathers, or the other way round. It works well as statement wall art above a sofa.
This is a hand-finished lithograph, 60x80 cm. I add my own acrylic brushstrokes on top of each one, so the surface has real brushwork and not only colour. I also use a textured gel that goes on white and dries completely clear, which gives the paint ridges a relief you can feel and see. It comes stretched and framed in black. Every lithograph has its own serial number and a certificate. These pop art prints are made to order, so message me on Instagram or by email to check timing and delivery to your country.
The original painting is sold, but I can paint a new one to order in any size.
