A man with white hair, in a black top with gold baroque ornament, holds a toilet made of gold leaf against a gold wall. It is gold wall art about money as a luxury joke: the face is from the US $20 bill, and the thing he carries is the most ordinary object in the house, covered in the most precious colour there is.
The portrait is split by glitch strips, and small Mondrian-like colour blocks sit between two hand-drawn charts. The work belongs to my second collection, SCAM.
This pop art lithograph is hand-finished. I add my own acrylic brushstrokes by hand, so the gold areas carry real texture and not only printed ink. A textured gel goes on white and dries completely clear, so the relief catches light without changing the colours.
The lithograph is 60 x 80 cm. It arrives stretched and framed in black, with its own serial number and a certificate. As pop art for living room walls, a hallway or even a bathroom, this gold wall art brings a good joke along with the shine.
