«Relaxation»

Relaxation is a pop art lithograph about a quiet evening that has gone slightly off the rails. Two people with blank faces share a green sofa, small black bars cover parts of them, and above their heads a big blue picture does all the shouting. I like the gap between how calm the pose is and how loud the colour is. On a wall it works as statement wall art that gives a room something to talk about.

Pink, green, blue and black carry the scene, and the pink floor against the black wall is the strongest contrast. A little dog and a synth keyboard sit in the foreground, so the room feels lived in rather than staged.

This is a hand-finished lithograph, not a flat poster. After printing, I add my own acrylic brushstrokes by hand. A textured gel goes on white and dries completely clear, so the surface has real relief under the light. Most pop art prints stay flat, and I wanted this one to have a surface you can lean in and look at. It arrives stretched and framed in black, 60 x 80 cm, with its own serial number and a certificate.
